Kerferd Road, East Malvern

A planning permit was obtained for the extension of this residence in a Heritage overlay, but before the works could be implemented, the residence was sold on and the new owners made subtle but significant changes to the layout to suit their personal requirements.

The design as finally implemented creates a contemporary home that is nonetheless coherent: the rear of the house provides a similar degree of detail as the front areas, and new kitchen and bathroom areas are seamlessly integrated. A generous and spacious full width living area provides a striking aspect to a full width semi-enclosed loggia with outdoor fireplace and BBQ areas, an a view to a lap pool and gardens beyond.
