MARTHA’S
POINT RETIREMENT VILLAGE - CLUBHOUSE
The Clubhouse at Martha’s Point
retirement village provides resort style facilities, supporting the
requirements of the surrounding residents. A generous porte
cochere leads to a large foyer space, with a library and business
centre opening off this area on one side, and the reception space
on the other. This leads to an octagonal vestibule and then
to lounge and dining areas, served by a compact commercial kitchen
and bar. Other facilities include consulting rooms, a
hairdresser, indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and changing
rooms. Large verandahs overlook a tennis court on one side of
the building, and a bowling green on the other.
The style continues the coastal
vernacular of the rest of the village, with a casual but refined
combination of stonework, roughcast render, expressed rafters,
timber lining boards and weatherboards.
