1283 Dandenong Road represents a design solution that responds
innovatively to a unique site. Set in a valley on Dandenong Road,
East Malvern, the flowing forms of the dynamic primary facade
respond to the traffic flows and scale of this major highway. The
overall building scale similarly acknowledges the presence of the
Chadstone Shopping Centre, one of the largest in the Southern
hemisphere. However the design provides a skillful transition from
this frontage into the surrounding parkland and residential
streets, providing a north facing verdant courtyard terminated
axially by an indoor swimming pool and framed by wings of
contemporary terraced dwellings.
